The first day of school for CSISD is Wednesday, August 17th.  Due to the road expansion construction on Greens Prairie Road, the City of College Station posted a map of the school traffic area for everyone traveling on Greens Prairie Road near Forest Ridge Elementary School.  For parents of Forest Ridge Elementary students, the map shows the drop off and pick up access. School traffic into the parent drop-off driveway will be allowed from each direction, but traffic out of the school is only to the right .
You may want to consider an alternate route to avoid the traffic congestion during the first week or so of school.  For those that do use this area, please slow down, use extra caution and expect delays.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the fishing tournament this past Saturday.  Special thanks goes to Nick McKernan, Krystal Broussard and Denise Woodard for their efforts in organizing and running this fun family event.  Also, thank you to Krystal for providing the snacks for attendees.

The Castlegate Annual Fishing Tournament is this Saturday from 9:00am-12:00pm at the back pond.  Please come out and join your neighbors for a fun filled morning of fishing and fellowship.  Prizes will be awarded to the winners along with a door prize drawing for attendees that register at the check in table.  You must be present to win.  Be sure to bring your fishing poles, sunscreen and lawn chairs to sit in.  Snacks will be provided by the HOA in addition to worms for bait.  For the safety of everyone in attendance, please do not bring pets to this event.

Thank you for participating in the Spring Festival. It was a great day to spend time with family and neighbors. A special thank you goes out to Krystal Broussard and Denise Woodard for organizing the Festival again this year. Thank you to all of the volunteers that helped make this event a success!

UPDATE FROM PUBLIC WORKS:

Phase Two of the Greens Prairie Road widening project is underway, which will transform the two-lane asphalt road to a four-lane divided concrete surface from Arrington Road to the city limits near Castlegate II. The project is scheduled for completion in summer 2023.

The work will require 13 CSU streetlight poles — between Arrington Road and Castlegate Drive — to be disconnected within the next week and eventually removed. Ultimately, BTU will replace these lights near the end of the project. During the construction period, there will be no street lighting along this section of Greens Prairie Road.

The latest news from the City of College Station as of 2-11-22-
The contractor is planning to get started on utility work south of the existing roadway starting this week.  This work will require the daily closure of the eastbound lane on Greens Prairie Road between 8:30 am – 2:00 pm at the location that the work is taking place.  The contractor will have a one lane/two way flagging operation to help traffic get around the lane closure while it is taking place.  After 2:00 pm, the lane should be back open until the next morning.  This work will be completed over the next 3-4 months.
