Improvements to the Highway 40 Entrance

The current special project is a series of improvement to the Highway 40 entrance.  When Castlegate was built, Highway 40 had not yet been constructed, and the primary entrance was at Castlegate Drive on Greens Prairie Road.  Since the construction of Highway 40, the Victoria Avenue entrance is now used as the primary entrance into Castlegate by many of our residents.  A survey in 2007 indicated that many residents would like to see the entrance improved, including more conspicuous signage and better lighting.

With feedback from the community, the Castlegate Board of Directors designed a plan in 2007 to make incremental improvements in 2007, 2008, and 2009 to the highway 40 entrance.

Phase 1 Complete

The first phase expanded the Castlegate sign and landscaping to both sides of the Highway 40 entrance.

Phase 2 Complete

The second phase extended the masonry of both signs to improve visibility.

Phase 3 (2010)

The final phase will include lighting improvements and minor cosmetic touches.
