Special Projects

As the Castlegate community grows, so should our infrastructure.

One responsibility of the Board of Directors is to implement projects to improve the community.  Many of these projects are completed as part of the ongoing community maintainance budget, such as landscaping and realm sign maintenance.  Other projects are more complex, and require longer-term financial and implementation planning.

How are the Projects Selected?

The Board of Directors periodically surveys the residents of Castlegate. One of the purposes of the survey is to better understand the need for major community improvements to common areas, particularly projects that are more extensive than general maintenance and not the responsibility of the City of College Station.

Consideration is only given to projects that benefit the community as a whole.

Where Does Funding Come From?

Special projects have distinct phases that span multiple years, under the guidance of multiple boards.  The projects are planned and budgeted well in advance, and are funded from aggregate retained earnings accumulated over multiple years.

Each phase of a project is only begun when it is clear that all other fiduciary obligations have been met.

Can I Request A Project for Consideration?

Yes. The directors maintain a list of candidates for special projects. The contents of this list are derived from periodic community surveys, which lets the community choose which projects are of highest importance.
