The City of College Station sent out the following traffic alert on Tuesday, October 26th, concerning the Greens Prairie Road widening project -

  • Westbound Greens Prairie Road from Castlegate Drive to Etonbury Avenue reopens later today.
  • Beginning ThursdayCastlegate Drive will be closed at Greens Prairie Road for 3-4 weeks.

The Donnington, Amberley and W.S. Phillips intersections at Greens Prairie Road are alternate routes into the community.  Please note that the Donnington intersection at Greens Prairie Road will be an "entrance only" into the community.  You will not be able to exit from Donnington.

Howdy Castlegate neighbors!

This past summer our community lost a lot of trees and other plants due to the drought.

To help restore vegetation in these natural areas, the HOA is starting a new "Adopt-a-Tree" program.

Any interested resident will receive a free tree or shrub (while supplies last) to plant along the walking trail, in an HOA owned common area, or other location where it will beautify our community.

These are all native and/or drought hardy trees and shrubs (in 1-3 gallon pots) that will be low maintenance once established but may need to be watered a couple times a month for the first few years during dry spells.

If you are interested in participating, please email: [email protected] and someone will contact you with more details. Thank you!

Part of Greens Prairie Road to be one-way for three weeks starting Friday

Greens Prairie Road will be restricted to eastbound traffic from Etonbury Avenue to Castlegate Drive for road work starting Friday. The one-way traffic will be in place for about three weeks.

Dalton Drive, WS Phillips Parkway, and Amberley Place will be closed for 1-2 weeks at Greens Prairie as part of the project. In addition, Donnington Drive will be closed at Greens Prairie starting early next week.
